Never had an issue before, my battery was always excellent and lasted well into the following day.

No new apps, I've tried all the hints such as static wall papers and removing unused apps, screen brightness etc. Nothing unusual on the battery usage screen. Just shows that the usual apps I use drain the battery quicker

My battery now lasts about 3 hours on battery saver mode. I haven't had it 12 months yet so surely this isn't right

It's either a faulty battery or something keeping the system awake constantly.
First check would be to see which app or apps updated around the time the issue started. After that, do a factory reset and finally, a new battery may be needed.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

If it is not clear from the app update, then after the factory reset you could try installing apps one at a time and seeing which one(s) impact the battery usage the most.
