Morning. After my upgrade I gave my old phone to my friend (Samsung 7). She is unable to use it after putting in her sim card.  Apparently I have to contact O2, who then have to do something to the phone in order for someone else to use it. I have no idea about this sort of thing so if anyone can help it would be much appreciated!

Cheers KG.

Hi @KG1

If you friend isnt with O2 the phone will need unlocking  see here https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-Guides/Unlocking-an-O2-phone-to-use-a-different-SIM-card/ba-p/1...

Once unlocked from the O2 network your friend should be able to use any network sim

Best of luck and welcome to the forum Welcome

Good morning Cleoriff.  Unfortunately I have been unable to unlatch my old phone.  Followed the link, answered all the questions but keep getting this reply,

"I'm sorry, we have not been able to unlatch your device at this time.

The reason given is:

You have not passed our security checks with the detail you have given us.Please check you have provided the correct information and then resendthe form."

I have no idea which details that I have given are incorrect 😞

Can anyone help?

Kindest regards

Kam
