Hi I got a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge today from the O2 store.
Once I got home, I went to open it and noticed that the seal had been broken.
On opening the box I noticed that there was a finger print on the box.
I was annoyed at first, then checked everything else and everything seems ok...
I I set the phone up etc and thought it will be ok.
However now it is bugging me, got the phone 3 days before release and why was it opened?!?!
On the seal it says "Do not accept if seal is broken. Caution sealed package. If seal has been broken or tampered with, do not give clear receipt unless contents are examined in presence or delivering agent".
It is really annoying me now, I may take it back and cancel the contract as in 14 day period; unless they give me another handset which is sealed!
What do you think?

Sure, cant say ive ever really paid that much attention. I guess the caveat to this would be showing a potential customer the handset, and them saying, na.. i want it in blue... Not really a "used" handset is it.

@Anonymous - call and ask to swap in store?
Can't go back to store if ordered online.

Spoke to an O2 guru and apparently they are out of stock to exchange right now 😕
I'd hold on to it until they do have stock.
As long as you've reported it you should be OK.

Yes pretty much what I said in my first post. It looks as if the op just collected it from the store and set it up at home. Found the seal broken at that point?

My S7 arrived with a broken seal also, and after a few minutes use I noticed a slight chip (almost a graze) just in the middle of the screen.
I promptly jumped in my car and went to my local O2 store in hopes of an exchange or some assistance in getting a quick return.... after being made to feel like an intruder by a group of employees who told me to go ring o2 and arrange a return because I didn't order it through there store they weren't willing to help, followed by a few seconds of awkward/stunned silence I left the store in disgust and dialled O2 intending to cancel my contract.
Luckily, I spoke to a very nice guy who was very apologetic and also surprised by the stores lack of assistance (as they didn't even put a note on the system regarding the damage etc) he arranged for a doorstep exchange tomorrow.
I really hope this one arrives sealed, 10 hours later I'm still annoyed at my experience with the store & I'm making damn sure none of my friends/family upgrades through that store in future.

I am pleased you got it sorted in the end @Anonymous. Thing is you can only exchange instore if you bought instore.
The staff could have been more helpful I agree with that. It tends to put you off when you have a bad experience.
Hope all goes well tomorrow...:smileywink:
