I did a search but couldn't find anything.

It's reported Samsung will release this in Nov. Any idea when we'll get it on O2 S2 phones?

Cheers,

Paul.

I have the standard GT-I9100 phone but when I connect to Kies it tells me my firmware is up to date (PDA:LPT/PHONE:LQ6/CSC:LPA(CPW).

Any ideas?

Thanks for any help.

Yes, your CSC is CPW, This update is only for O2U. Your phone has nothing to do with O2 (except your SIM) so you are waiting for Carphonewarehouse to push the update which usually comes the same time as the Sammy update.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

XEU CSC - This update is for O2U CSC only. You are waiting for Samsung.

I recently updated to 4.1.2 and find the improvements over 4.0.3 spot-on for me, so can highly recommend it if/when you can update.

When I upgraded my device last year I wasn't expecting the 'P' model of the S2 but that's what O2 sent me.  I'm impatient at the best of times so when my wife's S2 (non-P) with Vodafone got updated I found myself chomping at the bit, and after some time with Google I manually updated albeit with the regular release from Samsung (so NFC doesn't work but I never used it).  I'm now running 4.1.2 based on the XWLSN release.  Apparently XXLSK is now also available for the P models but it's a few bug fixes back (K versus N) so I've stayed with LSN.

I hope that O2 start rolling all this out soon.  Everyone should warm to the nice changes and improvements it offers.

Jonty.

So despite my online chat with an o2 person on friday where he promised me an update via Kies over the weekend I'm also waiting for samsung then. Anyone had any luck getting samsung to updaste the phones? Bit frustrating having an old o/s

Usually, Samsung will release the firmware before the carriers do, so I don't know what's happed with this update. I can't imagine it will be long now though......

Out of interest, did/does O2 issue both the I9100 and I9100P or was it just the P model..?  If it's the latter then I wonder if that would explain the delay (as I believe Sammy only released JB for the P about a week or so ago).

And whilst I'm here... rant on... I want a case that fits!  Rant off wink

Contacted Samsung - this is what I got back implying that I still get my update from O2 which does make sense to me.

Dear John,

Thank you for contacting Samsung Customer Support.

We are sorry you are having trouble finding out this information. We understand the frustration this can cause.

In regards to your email, we release the updates to the network providers, the network providers customise the software for their customers and then release it to them. If you have a sim free device, you will receive the update after the network providers have released their versions. This is to sort out any bugs before sim free devices get the update. I hope this clears all up for you.

If there is anything else we can help with, please let us know.

Our Customer Support Team love feedback! Share your thoughts on this response by completing the survey at the bottom of this page.

Kind regards,

Samsung release the unbranded firmware and O2 release their firmware based on the Sammy release. Samsung obviously have to release it to O2 first to play with it though.

What's up with your case ??

My S2 is showing the following firmware PDA:LPH / PHONE:LPC / CSC:LP4 (O2U) I've checked Kies for updates and directly on the phones and still no update available, am I missing something?
