Hi,I wonder if anyone can help or point me in the right direction with the following problem. I recently changed from a Note 4 to the S6 Edge + and, whilst I like almost everything about the phone I cannot get it to connect to my Home 5g connection. My home wifi has a 2g and 5g connection option and everything else i.e. Tablet, laptop, wife's iphone etc all connect to the 5g option. it's just my S6 which refuses to connect to the 5g but always connects to the 2g option. I cannot be sure but I'm fairly sure it was connecting to the 5g for the first few days I had it and I think it's only the last couple of days where it's reverted to the 2g only. I hope this makes sense to some tech wizard on here and I'd really appreciate any feedback or advice you can give me.

Many thanks, Jim

My laptops will only pick up the 2.4ghz but it's plenty fast enough at 100+ download. On the phone there is no noticeable differences between the two on speed test.

Try resetting the router, forgetting the network on the phone and re-enter the password.

Hi thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I have already tried that but it made no difference. Thanks anyway. Jim

I'm not sure what you mean by a 2g and 5g connection?

I have 2 and 5 showing up at home on my virginmedia wifi selection. I always connect to 5 but tbh there is no real difference.

If we are talking ghz it's either 5 or 2.4 ghz, hence my confusion.
2.4ghz is the most common standard and the one to go for.

Yeah a lot of equipment won't work with 5ghz in the UK and it won't make any difference to speed at all.
2.4ghz will also travel further so the range is much better too.
