I've had my htc rhyme for nearly a year now and I love it, unfortunately last night I rather stupidly dropped it down a drain and it was fully submerged in water for a good 5 seconds. As the battery in the rhyme can't be removed (a stupid feature I think) I've just had to take the back off and try to dry it out but it seems to have bitten the dust. I still have around 6 months left on my contract, is there anything I can do short of just buying a new phone?
I know this kind of thing happens a lot but I've never actually managed to break a phone before the end of my contract before so was unsure if I had any options. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The only thing I can suggest (apart from sealing it in a big of uncooked rice) is to check your home insurance. There is usually a clause for personal items.
