Hey guys,

Just wanted to clarify a little - O2 branded bootscreens are a thing of the past. Old devices may still have them but for new devices, our device team have listened to customer feedback and we haven't included these on new devices for quite a while now, since possibly around 2 years ago.

It will if it has o2 customisation on it but not all of them do.
It depends on the CSC of the phone.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

If it's an unbranded o2 device then it won't have one

Flashed the newest O2 firmware on my S7 and no splash screen. I always thought O2U firmware did have one but clearly not!

Some devices have no longer got O2 branding.
My xzp flashed to O2 fw doesnt, nor my xz.
The wife's S8 just has Samsung branding too but is O2 csc.
Maybe they dropped the O2 splash screens?

New devices running the O2 will no longer have the O2 splash screen. If I am not mistaken, Vodafone and Three are still having a short splash screen (longer splash screen on Vodafone) on their s8/s8+.

@mavericke I flashed the Vodafone firmware and no splash screen either on my S7. Three still has one.

@MI5 CSC was VIA but I changed this to O2U and no splash screen. O2 UK apps installed but no splash screen.
