Check your home insurance for personal items cover though there will probably be an excess to pay.

They do for sure but you would have needed to have registered the phone with them before the damage occurred 😕

Not always the case, with Lloyds they will cover you, but advise by having the phone registered before the claim it does make the process quicker. I'm assuming so long as you could prove you own the phone you'd be covered.

My wife had endless problems claiming through LloydsTSB when her handbag was stolen, despite the phone being registered, despite a police report, despite her working for O2 at the time and being able to produce receipts. Took almost 2 months for a replacement phone. Glad to see things have improved though. Personally I use Nationwide now.
