Try going to this test page:

www.education.gov.yk.ca/pdf/pdf-test.pdf

If it won't open on your phone you should get an option to open it online in Cloud Viewer.

If it does open the file sent to you could be corrupt.

I opened this page no problem, but still cannot download files. When I try to download pdf file I received: download unsuccessful. getdata_jsessionid_D858B5E8DFBE

It sounds as if it's corrupt, can you try it on a pc or forward it to another phone?

If it's not private can you publish the link or file name here?

I think that I erased some settings from my phone.

Oh dear, you may have to restore it to the factory settings.

Back it up first though.
