Can't receive text messages on Galaxy S20

Getting very frustrated now with my new Galaxy S20 5G. I am able to make and receive phone calls and send texts but I'm not receiving any texts... Which means I can't finish setting up my apps as a lot of them want to text me codes. I've googled for hours and tried everything I can find with no success. I tried phoning O2 but I can't get talking to anyone because it wasn't deemed urgent enough.

So far I have:

Restarted the phone (several times)

Updated the software

Removed the sim

Cleared the message cache

Triple checked the message centre number

Anybody any suggestions as to where I go from here? Any help much appreciated

Regards

Pete

@ScottyDawg

No unfortunately. 100's of people are still having the same problem today. O2 are hopefully looking into it.

So I finally got chatting to O2. Was on the website and a chat box popped up open_mouth

Long story short, they are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it... Can't say how long it will be but at least they are working on it.

Fingers crossed its sooner rather than later

Yes I have mentioned @Chris_K on this thread. https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/My-O2/not-receiving-text-messages/m-p/1343525/highlight/true#M7105

Hopefully he will come on to confirm. He works for the Social Media team

Hey all,

Thanks for reporting this to us, and sorry for any inconvenience caused. Rest assured your phones are fine. We're aware of the issue and we're working to resolve this ASAP. I'll update this post once resolved, which we're hoping will be soon.

Update: I received notification in the early hours of this morning that this issue has now been resolved. If you restart your phones, texts should work as normal.

I've just upgraded to a Note 10+ 5G. I can't receive text messages but everything else seems fine, does the problem mentioned above cover my issue too? Thanks!

Thanks @jonsie. I'll leave contacting O2 for now then.
I know I have messages that were sent to me yesterday and Monday. Can anyone tell me how long they will stay alive if they aren't sent to my handset? I'm assuming they are stuck on a server somewhere!
