Can I use my O2 Sim in a OnePlus 8/9?

Hello,

I know O2 don't stock the OnePlus 8/9. If I bought it direct from OnePlus, would my O2 simcard + data work in a OnePlus device?

I've had an O2 Monthly sim-only for years in a Samsung but I don't want to commit to buying a OnePlus if my O2 sim won't work. (current phone is on its last legs)

I've read conflicting articles online, some saying it'll work, some saying it will not.

Thanks

Hi @Aq,

You shouldn't have any problems using your sim card in that phone providing it's unlocked.

If you've been using your sim card in an older Samsung then the data should be fine too.

@Aq

As far as I am aware, there's no OP device approved for 5g on O2 network.

No one managed to get 5g on the OP8 so I expect the OP9 to be the same too.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
