Hi everyone,

I want to get my 13 year old granddaughter a phone with a capped tarrif on a monthly contract.

She is hell bent on iphone but she is too young and irresponsible so I wondered if anyone can suggest a good alternative?

Looking forward to replies.

Babs

Hi @babsg Welcome to the forum.

Firstly O2 don't provide capped tariffs. The data part of the tariff will run out when it is all used.. but the texts and calls minutes will carry on being charged if your grandaughter exceeds her limit.

Personally I would be thinking of buying her a PAYG phone...which means when her credit runs out that's it...Or if you want a contract tariff you should be looking for one with unlimited texts and calls

All can be found here in she O2 shop https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/all-tariffs

As for the choice of phone? Thats entirely up to you and what YOU can afford....Best of luck.:smileywink:

Many o2 tariffs include unlimited calls and texts and with data just stopping when exceeded there is no real need for capping if the tariff is chosen wisely.

THE choices are there for the OP with an unlimited allowance and sufficient data so no extra charges at month end.

Just need to be aware of non included calls and texts so for a minor it would be advisable to call CS to ensure a premium block was in place and also charge to mobile cancelled, although in reality, a contract isn't the right way forward in this case by the sounds of it.
