Battery .. blank screen... switching off - GALAXY S2

Anonymous

I believe there are a lot of people having this problem.

Battery is fully charged then I go on a few apps and the next minute my phone screen goes blank and has switched off.  I then turn it back on and the battery is beeping to be charged!

After reading about this on loads of forums I can't believe that it is a battery issue.  My phone has only been doing this in the past few weeks and I've just come to the end of my 18 month Contract (waiting to upgrade to new Galaxy when its out ; P)

I thought I had solved this yesterday as it didn't switch off all day after I updated the firmware through Kies and went into settings>applications and emptied the cache on Ebay and Youtube (after me deciding these were the apps I use the most).  Today .. it has happened again!  I noticed it happened when I did a refresh on the accu weather on my home screen, I'm defo thinking its one of the apps that is playing up!

Samsung and O2 don't seem to be responding to any forum questions on this matter which I find unbelievable!  Please can anyone else advise?! Many thanks slight_smile

OMG .... I've let the phone run right down and powered off - charged it - removed battery and SIM card.  Uninstalled certain apps. Did a factory reset then realised I hadn't done a backup properly in Kies so just sat setting my emails and everything back up then the thing just went blank again and powered off 😞

I give up!  When is this S4 out cos I'm seriously debating whether to just get the HTC or try a Nokia Windows phone Smiley Mad

It sounds knackered. I'd take it back to an O2 shop for a warranty repair (Its a 2 year warranty) or dig a big hole in the back garden and bury it wink

You did do the reset from recovery (Vol Up + Home + Power) didn't you ?

I always do it from the recovery menu and you can clear the entire cache from there too at the same time. Tick the box to back up to Google servers in backup & reset and all your apps will be automatically re installed too. If you have a Samsung account all you text messages can be backed up to that and auto re installed too.
