Sort of defeats the purpose of calling it a "Factory reset" I suppose, though.

A factory reset gets rid of unwanted files, files and data which may conflict with the latest firmware and let's you start again with customising the phone. You don't really want it to go back to the factory state or you would have to update and keep factory resetting in a never ending circle.

Yeah it's true, both of you (that rhymes). I suppose the term "factory reset" has been defined as how you both describe for a long time now, when once it meant literally returning it to the factory state.
My 5.1 update to my Z2 has speeded it up slightly and I like the new features, for example not having to tap a "tick" after entering my PIN from the lockscreen, and also having the little "i" button to tap next to the list of recent calls made/received; that wasn't there previously (by default at least), so you could only view the name or tap to call.
