4.2.2 For HTC One X

Anonymous
Not applicable

Following Perksie's advice from the other similarly titled thread that has been listed as solved by someone, thought I'd open a new thread, so any HTC One X users can report on any correspondence they have with O2 about the roll-out of 4.2.2 to the HOX.

The last major update (to 4.1.1) left a lot of users disillusioned with O2 after conflicting answers from a variety of sources. If anyone can tell me how to post a link to that thread for reference I will. I will also copy and paste my comment from the other ('solved') thread below.

Let's hope O2 get it right this time.

@Toby & @Chiara, can you help us at all....?

My wife's wifi is nearly non existent too after update, strange as my One X+ seemed to get stronger wifi signal after update.

I trust you guys are all doing a factory reset after the update has finished installing?

Found info online as to why I can't find the developer options - they've been hidden!!!

To restore access to them:
Settings => About => Software information => More => Tap on "Build number" 7 times in a row and on the 7th it says "You are now a developer". Developer options now appear under Settings!

My observations:

1. When you swipe through the pages now and reach the last one in a particular direction it now just stops.  On 4.1.1 it wrapped around.

2. Tapping the "Home" key twice does nothing now.  On 4.1.1 it showed all the home screens and you could tap one to jump to it.

3. Seems a bit quicker, but that could be the placebo effect...

Not had any issues with WiFi.

My car's internal Bluetooth threw a hissy fit briefly but connected after a five or so minutes.

That gap on one of my pages has now been identified as the Task Manager! slight_smile

The next task is to hook it up to my Windows 7 PC and make sure it still mounts it correctly.  HTC Sync Manager broke on the last update, so I uninstalled that months ago.

How long was it taking you to install ..... Mine has completed the loading bar and has been sitting on the green arrow screen for ages ?

@Pad_eh

I was doing other things whilst mine was loading so wasn't clock watching, but maybe 20mins or so?

My wife's HOX is still waiting strangely, but the revolution ROM I have installed has just received the camera and sense add on, so all the good bits, no splash screen 😉

well got to add that battery life has gone down considerably with this update. before I could do a fair bit of browsing during the day and by the time I got home would still have like 25%battery give or take. but now stll got a couple of hours before I get in and have only got 11% - so bet it will be nearly dead by the time I get in.

I agree with most of the comments I don't like the shortened battery life it was bad enough before update and I also didn't get update for camera and sense after update either
