Following Perksie's advice from the other similarly titled thread that has been listed as solved by someone, thought I'd open a new thread, so any HTC One X users can report on any correspondence they have with O2 about the roll-out of 4.2.2 to the HOX.
The last major update (to 4.1.1) left a lot of users disillusioned with O2 after conflicting answers from a variety of sources. If anyone can tell me how to post a link to that thread for reference I will. I will also copy and paste my comment from the other ('solved') thread below.
Let's hope O2 get it right this time.
@Toby & @Chiara, can you help us at all....?

There is a cyanogenMod rom for the one x, a stable 4.2, which works as stock android, and they are in the process of 4.3, they have a couple of release candidates. But all depends on if you still want sense, as alot of the roms out there don't have it and they steer towards stock aosp or aokp.
Not sure what aosp or aokp are tbh! Do i need sense really? I don't know how much of a difference it makes to the basic android os. I'm happy with it at the mo, but don't know if I'd miss it if it wasn't there! Have been looking at Hassan2000's toolkit on xda developers, and I think it makes sense!

Hi guys,
I can completely understand the frustration with waiting around and I'll be chasing the team for some more info today.
Morning Toby,
Any news? This is starting to get silly! Could you find out why the update O2 have rolled out for the One X+ can't be rolled out for the standard HOX?

iOS7 will be out before the 4.2.2 and sense 5 update for my HOX at this rate!
Little miffed that O2 released the update for the HOX+ first what's up with that? I would have thought HOX would take priority as it's been out longer or at least release the update for both at the same time...
Not sure who's to blame for this whole sorry saga, Google, HTC, O2 makes me want to switch back to apple as at least you know when they are going to release it and everybody gets it at the same time.
Shame about the pricing of the 5S on O2, £119.99 upfront on a 24 month contract £37 for the same plan I am on already or £47 on a new 4G tariff but O2 are unable to provide 4G to iphone for a few weeks...

Unfortunately I believe (unless anyone can correct me), that the fault is with O2. HTC have released the 4.2.2 update in the uk for the HOX. Unbranded handsets have already had it. Branded handsets on Vodafone have already had it. I don't know about the other providers.
O2 are the ones who haven't made it work with their bloatware etc yet, and haven't released it. Next time I will get an unbranded handset for definite. It isn't unreasonable to ask to receive updates at the same time as other networks.
