Following Perksie's advice from the other similarly titled thread that has been listed as solved by someone, thought I'd open a new thread, so any HTC One X users can report on any correspondence they have with O2 about the roll-out of 4.2.2 to the HOX.
The last major update (to 4.1.1) left a lot of users disillusioned with O2 after conflicting answers from a variety of sources. If anyone can tell me how to post a link to that thread for reference I will. I will also copy and paste my comment from the other ('solved') thread below.
Let's hope O2 get it right this time.
@Toby & @Chiara, can you help us at all....?

My software number is 4.18.206.4, don't know if that helps.
I installed the 4.2.2 update, and then clicked 'check now' again and two much smaller updates were showing. I'm sure one was to do with the camera, and one something to do with Sense (but don't know if this was the bit that upgraded it to Sense 5, or whether that was part of the main update, and this was just an add-on).

forgot to ask, has anyone had issues with 4.2.2 & latest sync manager? seems that since the update phone connects with sync manager but won't properly sync - any thoughts?
It stopped working for me after the 4.1.1 update. Sync manager would not see the phone at all even though Windows 7 saw it. I uninstalled it in the end. If you use Windows 7 then Windows mounts it as a device anyway. You can then drag and drop files to the phone in explorer.

I'm having the same problem with the rear camera. I've tried all settings but the picture is very blurry in all conditions. And yes, the front camera behaves better and in the same way as before the update.

I've spoken to HTC and they only recommend clearing the camera app cache and then a hard reset, neither of which have made any real difference. I was told that the next step would be to send back to HTC for repair.
It doesn't seem to be as wide spread as the wifi issue but definitely linked to the 4.2.2 update. Maybe worth sending a support ticket to HTC as the more complaints the more likely they are to do something about it.
I'll let you know if I hear anything.
Thanks

I've cleared the camera app cache and done a hard reset this morning, but the rear camera is still very blurry. I will send a support ticket now.
