S7 Edge - Has Nougat update just bricked my phone, or is the update slow?

This morning there was a notification on my phone saying there was an update. So I clicked on Install now, it downloaded the update and for the last 90 minutes it just has an open padlock with blue and green lines spinning around it.

Should the update take this long?

I'd be inclined to restart the phone and force a reboot to check again.
If that failed, a software reinstall using smart switch on pc would be my next movr

Just soft reset first and see if it reboots normally.

Rebooting has brought it back to life.

Upon rebooting it said the update had failed, and it sent a report off to Samsung.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Good news - it should try and download the update again later.
Make sure you have a good wifi connection and 50% battery before starting the install.
