HTC One M8 - bluetooth connection - iPad

Whilst awaiting for the firmware update to Androird is there a workaround to connecting (they show as paired) these two. Seems my old Windows 7.5 and an even older Nokia connect without issue.

TIA

On your HTC you need to go into settings then more then tethering and portable hotspot.
Tick the portable wifi hotspot tickbox then go into wifi hotspot settings.
This will give you a passcode for your newly generated hotspot.
On the other device, turn on wifi and it will scan and find your hotspot. Click on it to connect and enter the passcode that was generated above.
You should now be able to connect to your hotspot which uses your mobile data connection so be aware of how much data you are using.

An iPad will only pair via Bluetooth with another apple product and car system or ear piece as far as I'm aware.

Or do you mean tethering so you can connect your iPad to the internet using your data allowance from your phone ?

A similar thread from Apple discussions https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4974316

If you perform a google search their are lots of threads / posts about apps that may assist.

Basically it's Apple sand boxing their iOS to protect it from harmful material.

If you want to transfer files around between devices, consider the Pushbullet app. It connects over wifi and is available for ios, android and PC.

What is it that you are trying to do exactly, ie, file transfer, tethering or something else?

Thanks for your reply.

I propabally do mean 'tethering'. I'll check out the links provided.

(But I did note this page http://www.macworld.com.au/help/how-to-connect-the-ipad-mini-and-ios-6-to-other-devices-and-networks...

Thanks again

I thought you might of done.

Look at the hotspot link in my reply.

Just to highlight tethering can use your data allowance quicker die to the iPad accessing richer content than a phone does.

I've successfully connected my android devices to an iPhone before - Last time was just recently when on holiday using my unlimited Three data allowance as O2 only had poor GSM connectivity.
