Sim Swap into upgrade but now number not working

Help, i have just upgraded my phone, sim swapped and now my number is not recognised, i cannot receive incoming or make outgoing calls, any advice would be much appreciated, i have tried looking online and i have tried calling but they keep cutting me off as its not fraud or a lost phone.

If you upgraded you could have used your old sim. No need to sim swap.

I am not great at things like this (clearly) and if i had not done the swap all would be well but it isnt, any ideas on how i rectify things?

Is your old sim still working? If so, put it in your phone and use it.

So that means the swap is underway. They are taking longer than normal but keep turning your phone on and off again. It's a waiting game I'm afraid. @Gem38

would it say my number is not recognised when someone does call the number whilst it is in progress?

It wouldn't work @Gem38 . Your old sim has lost service.

yes, but if the number is being transfered to the new sim would it state that message when someone tried to call, sorry i really am rubbish at this stuff. bet you wish you never answered now

It's a waiting game now, sorry
