iphone Esim transfer while outside UK

So i am going to be travelling to the US for a month and while i am there will be purchasing a new iPhone which is Esim only.

I am planning to use Apple Quick Start to transfer all my data, including my Esim, to my new IPhone. I did this successfully just recently while in the UK with another line.

Has anyone managed to do this while outside the UK?

As far as I know, O2 eSIMs need to be transferred differently, and the transfer is not guaranteed to work when not on O2's home network. This may help:
