Theoretically if 5G disconnects the phone should switch to 4G without any interruption.

It's hard to say from a distance. Personally I would try locking the phone to 4G and see it the signal stays stable before looking elsewhere.

Don't know if our guides will help

Download the My Network App to monitor and report faults

https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/my-network

<LI-PRODUCT title="Guide: How can I sort out my network issues?" id="Guide018"></LI-PRODUCT>

<LI-PRODUCT title="Guide: Is the network down for me or everyone?" id="Guide016"></LI-PRODUCT>

I have a Google Pixel 9 Pro and my partner has an iPhone 15 Pro Max. We are both experiencing signal issues when using the 5G frequency. Both phones intermittently drop the signal, which goes completely, in most areas that we visit. I am located in and around the Newcastle upon Tyne area and there is no pattern to the signal dropping. On one visit to an area the signal will be fine, but then the next time the signal goes and seems to take a while to return.

Is anybody else experiencing this issue either on this area or elsewhere? Because the issue is happening on two completely different phones and platforms I'm reluctant to say they are the cause.

Thanks in advance for any insight into this issue.

Chris

I have changed from 5G to 4G in my phone settings and so far it seems to have stopped the issue of the dropped signal, as described in my previous post.

Waiting on a phone call from an O2 Guru to see what they can do about it.

Honestly doubt O2 will call you. I say that from the multitude of posts on here.

Is there an O2 store in the vicinity to where this happens?.Call in with photo ID.

No way of knowing whether 5G in that area is Stand Alone or None Stand Alone.

The fact that is doing this on two different phones and operating systems is strange

Be interested to see what others think here

Just to note: O2 Gurus were disbanded some 4 years or so ago, @CJ72 - any staff member in an O2 Store should now be able to deal effectively with any issues you are experiencing.

As of 01-Jan-2022:

"The Guru branding is being phased out from O2 stores. The reason for this is that staff in O2 stores have been up-skilled to cover all the work that Gurus could previously take care of."
