I received a call from someone called Elena claiming to be from O2 I established that she was calling from the Philippines She claimed I am eligible for a discount to £7:00 monthly sim only 50 gb unlimited talk and text. She asked me to confirm my name and email. The. She sent a link to update my password with a promo code. She said I would receive a free gift When the email arrived I clicked on it. Next a code came via SMS she asked for the one time code I got suspicious so I gave her the wrong code then hung up. She tried to call me from a London number but I did not pick up. I know that O2 will never call me and ask for pin number

It's a well known scam.
Block the number and do not follow any links.
Forward the scam text or number to 7726 - It's free.

No matter how many times people are warned not to give details or information to cold callers they still do. The circle remains unbroken.
