My pixel 7pro seems to have two different incoming call notifications.

The normal swipe up circle works fine but on occasions I get a square block near the top of the screen. Tapping the green answer button does not answer the call and I am left with having to call the sender back.

Are the latest updates from Google on your handset, @Ja593? There were some peculiarities with Android Auto there for a while.

Also are you using a VOIP app as well as the normal dialler? Eg WhatsApp calls ring in differently and appear differently from regular calls coming in from the phone network to your phone.

Worth checking, and if you can repeat each symptom then you can work in addressing the problem. Google may help:

https://forums.androidcentral.com/threads/phone-dialer-app-is-horrible.1056027/

Good luck!

The phone is fully updated and using standard phone app,no WhatsApp etc. Will try and capture screen next time it comes up with this answer option but most of the time it shows the normal swipe up button.

But if it doesnt do anything, then have a look for an update to the dialler, in the app store..

Did you find anything in a Google search, as above, for example?

And in your dialler settings, try the "Draw over other apps" setting to see if it helps:

(From a Pixel 6A)

Took me three tries today to answer an important call today. Pressed the square button firmly on first two to no avail. Fortunately they rang back as it was private number. Someway when I pressed the homebutton quickly the swipe up button appeared. Will try this again if I get the opportunity.

Would seem to have answered my own question by pressing the green answer square then short press on the side/power button, screen then displays the round swipe up phone button. Vodafone forum suggests similar but using volume up or down button press.
