      <title>not receiving calls</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;i have moved over from EE to O2 due to poor signal.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;my number was meant to be ported over last week but nothing until today when EE have turned off my old SIM.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;i can make outgoing calls but if anyone tried to call me they get a voicemail saying my EE is not available and to leave a message.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;i have spoken to O2 today and no help what so ever.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;im now thinking this was a mistake changing over&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;does anyone else have this issue?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

If you are now an O2 customer and have a service issue, it's ultimately their responsibility to resolve that - and there is no O2 CS via this forum.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;If EE have turned off their sim the port has obviously started so it will take a few hours for the O2 sim to fully get on board.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;That's normal practice.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I can vouch that EE will reliably port-in the working day after PAC submission, I've heard similar reports from VF.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Reading support fora does tend to uncover negative reports of any service, it's the nature of the beast.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Port request 15:00 on the Wednesday, completed 12:00 on the Thursday.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I was going to port into O2 but there were so many posts regarding failed ports on here at the time, I decided not to take a chance.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Absolutely, there is no single best network without local variances, mine was a broad-brush comment.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I presume your comment of O2 being superior on indoor call quality is based on O2's base 900Mhz coverage layer rather than any comment on the voice codecs being used. EE use both WB-AMR ("HD") &amp;amp; EVS ("HD+") codecs which drive the call quality far more than the 4G bands do.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

What I have noted on calls to landlines (so as to eliminate the "other end" of the call being the problem) is that O2 is frequently clearer and more reliable than the other networks.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It is unfortunate that O2 are often let down by data. My new year wish would be for O2 to invest substantially in the network infrastructure so as to facilitate faster and more reliable data connections.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Landline networks generally use NB codecs and are the poor relation to the WB ones widely employed on mobiles - the results being that intra-mobile calls are often indistinguishable from being face-to-face.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
