As explained in the guide, you need to obtain an O2 sim and use it to register the phone.

Unless the phone is registered on O2, it cannot be unlocked for free. You'll need to see if a local mobile repair shop or market stall can do it.

You need to put an O2 sim card in the phone to have it unlocked
