I’d like to upgrade my tarif (sim only) but I’m currently abroad (in USA). Can I do this without any problems?

You will need to be on the O2 home network, not roaming, for the upgrade to work properly, @CBW - it would be problematic at best, and unlikely to work, leaving you without service, at worst.

Yes you can.

I've done it myself so know it works without any problems.

As long as you choose to keep your same sim. All changes are made on the O2 system which automatically updates your tariff online.
