Half black screen, but only when brightness turned up

My phone was working fine last night. This morning I immediately noticed the bottom half of the screen was black.
I tried a reset which initially cleared the problem, but it soon started again. The screen still works if you can guess where the buttons are.
I somehow turned the brightness right down and it had cleared, but it's too dark to use properly and as soon as I turn it back up, the black comes back.

Can anyone advise please? Thanks

Sorry to hear you're having issues, this sounds as if it could be a hardware issue and would need to be looked at in-store and possibly sent for repair.

If the phone is still under warranty, I would contact Samsung directly first.

Even if there is no warranty, they really are better fixed to advise on what do do next. If it needs repair they will do it. Warranty.. No cost....No warranty, it will cost.
