Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask, but will I be able to use Switch Up at point of pre ordering? My wife has a 15 Pro and been debating changing it, her phone is on my O2 account with the rest of the family and she has Switch Up available. Her birthday next week so it's good timing (if you can use switch up on pre orders)

Follow up question, if this is possible, will she receive any SMS comms to her number about the process if I do it? I am assuming probably yes

I would recommend doing it all in store, as that way you save a whole world of pain and suffering many have suffered doing it online.

You can pre-order in store, and then day of release take it in, all done and sorted and new phone..

Also an excuse to take the wife for a birthday coffee / tea hence more brownie points.

I did this last year for my wife and was a lot easier...

Thanks @madasaf1sh good idea. Annoyingly, we are travelling on Friday so I can't go into store to pre order. So would need to do it online, but the switch up part we can do in store. Is that possible? To start the switch up process online and choose to do the actual swap & collection in our local store?

You can always pre-order it for collection a day or so later

I just wouldn't trust pre-orders from o2 ordered online for delivery on release day

@paddyposh89 I did it in store last year, I wouldn’t bother and just stay at home and sort it, even if you do the pre order in store you still have to send your phone off through the post when returning your current device. Doing it in store just means the store staff are doing the computer work for you rather than yourself

My Honor Magic V5 and Z Fold 7 was exactly the same... So it must be unique to some stores...

@madasaf1sh I went into my local store last year as I was told on here everything was done in store, I think it was actually your advice last year. They told me as it was a pre order the switch up had to be sent via the post, they put the order through and everything but I had to send my current phone off. I’ve done 3 switch ups now all via the post and I’ve not had issues, don’t get me wrong I’ve wrapped them up in bubble wrap and took photos of every angle and inch of the device and actually included a note inside telling them I’ve taken photos of every inch of the device so maybe they’ve thought twice about trying to screw me over.

The iPhone Air looks good but until o2 start offering eSIM to there pay and go the iPhone Air is not for me. It will be at last another 2 st the earliest before I even think about replacing my iPhone 16 that I have had over 9 weeks now.
