4 dots intermittent loss of signal until iPhone restarted

I’m regularly seeing the row of 4 dots at top of my iPhone next to the WiFi bars, I can see them now (I’m at home on WiFi so can search the internet anyhow but had to restart iPhone to see the vertical bars again) but when it happens when I’m out and about I have to restart my iPhone to start getting mobile reception again. What is causing this as my friend that I was with at the time also had O2 and everything was fine with her iPhone? Thank you

ooh interesting, so can I keep my same number? Do I need to go into a store or can I order a new sim online (I’m home I’ll at the moment) 🥴
