So I got myself a cellular apple watch and linked it up to my iPhone, however if my apple watch and phone are out of range, I cant use my apple watch as it seems to rely on the iPhone for signal etc. ? Should I have been sent a sim for the watch? Or does it already have one built in?

So long as you've activated the cellular plan with O2 (done on the watch app on your iPhone, and costs £5 per month) you can leave you phone at home and go out with your watch, so long as you're in coverage (non 5G) your watch will connect to the network for data. so you will be able to make calls, send messages and stream music, etc

Note: if your phone is switched off or not in a signal, then you'll only receive calls, and iMessage (not standard SMS as these rely on your phone to forward to you watch)
