How long does it take for your apps to download when you upgrade your phone. It has been 24 hours now and they are still not downloaded. I cant use most of the apps that are on my phone

You need to tell the phone that you are switching @val5.

Most manufacturers have an app that will do it - what phone are you moving from/to?

thanks for the response @gmarkj . I have switched from an iphone 11 to an iphone 13. I dont remember it taking this long to do the last time i upgraded

Did you back up the 11 before logging into the 13? And did you tell it to install from a backup?
My knowledge of iOS is limited so I'll mention someone who knows a lot more than me!

Any ideas @MI5 ?
