Hi my daughter dropped her phone in water.screen not cracked .will turn on but screen is black makes a noise. How much roughly eould it cost to be repaired i understand its not a quote. But need a best price/worst case please as she has to save up and psy for it herself

Hi @Kealeyb it depends on what phone it is & whether you get it repaired locally by an independent or by the manufacturer. I wouldn’t use O2’s repairs as they don’t have a good reputation & would over charge an extortionate amount

Water damage is usually terminal unfortunately so a replacement phone is really the only way forward.
Try Apple out of warranty scheme directly as they are usually the best for service in these circumstances.

From what I remember, Apple out of warranty isn't available for water damaged phones. But I think you are right, the phone will fail quickly because of internal corrosion even if the screen is replaced.

I checked that first as wasn’t sure but it does state:
Other iPhone repairs
Do you need a repair for other issues such as the Home button, liquid damage, or an accessory?

I think that must have been updated. I'm fairly sure they were excluded before but thats good news for @Kealeyb

Hi all thanks for your responses.
I have sent the phone off with 02 they are going to text me with a price.looks like im looking at way over £100. Ill update when i found out full extent of damage .thanks again 😁

Did you try the phone in rice trick before resorting to expensive repairs?

How long did you leave it to dry? Putting it in a rice packet like the comment above is meant to be good.
