Push notifications on e mail

Not getting e mail audible notifications on e mail! When you enter the mail app e mails then start to arrive with notification.

Yes @adamtemp64 is the man. I'm sure it's a setting issue depending on your email provider.

but the relevant settings can be found in

Settings > Mail > accounts> Fetch new data> enable push etc

Also make sure background data is enabled and on for email account.

As far as I can tell @MI5 there is no background app refresh for mail accounts it is controlled via the push / fetch controls withing the mail app.

There is no toggle for mail in settings > General > Background App Refresh. as per apple help page https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT202070

Cheers Adam, it was just a thought.
It would have to be an imap account for push to work too wouldn't it or else fetch would need setting to 15 mins?

Normall off and set to manual for fetch as out driving all day no distractions
