The screen is black and not working. The phone home button/lock button has no effect on the phone when pressed and the screen is still black and unresponsive. The phone does make noise, as I can hear the phone ringing but cannot answer it as the screen is not allowing me to see it, or slide and tap the screen. Please help!

Try connecting to a PC in DFU mode and see it it will restore https://www.theiphonewiki.com/wiki/DFU_Mode but if it's a screen hardware fault you'll have to contact Apple or seek a repair elsewhere.
