Bit strange but when my phone is just 3G I have 4 bubbles of signal and when I turned on my 4G I only get 2 signal bubbles.

Does anyone know why and how I can fix this?

You can't fix it - it depends on the strength of network where you are.
3G and 4G are not identical in terms of signal strength.

My phone can go from 4G to G without me having even moved the phone in the blink of an eye. It's a radio signal. It's subject to all sorts of external influences. It will always fluctuate. There is no way to guarantee a constant steady signal.

Personally, I find the weather is the biggest influence!

When at my local train station (I always stand in the same spot!!), if it is a bright sunny clear day, my iPhone 6 will taop into 4G straight away however, on rainy days, it may just connect to 3G only. On misty and foggy days, I have seen me connection even drop to less than 3G!

In most cases 2 bubbles of 4G will still give you much better data speeds than full signal on 3G.
