3G data usage

My 3G data usage is constantly running out added three bolt one this month it seems to be ever increasing!
I can't find on the website where my usage is detailed only an overall amount. Please advise where I can find this detail & also advice as to why my data usage keeps running out!

What phone u got because u can check through ur phone settings go into data usage
Thats how i check my samsung galaxy s5...

As mentioned, your phone will give you a breakdown of data usage, however, your problem is not uncommon with iPhones.
These is a bug that either uses or misrepresents data and has been an issue across all networks worldwide for the past 2 or more years.
It's random and doesn't effect everyone but there is no logic to it when it does hit you.
Best way to avoid it is to get a non apple phone.

As stated check in Settings , mobile and each app will show what's using what. If you've not used it before then reset the stats and watch it for a month.

You can ask a Genius Bar at apple to run a diagnostic on it via an appointment here http://www.apple.com/uk/retail/geniusbar/

As intimated some are expressing concerns and some are not. Your choice to change handset or not.

When you're not in need of your data, go into your settings and switch it off. If you don't, it will check Facebook constantly if you have it installed, and keep updating your other apps in the background.

You could also check your emails.

If your have a messages in your outbox that haven't sent, the phone will constantly try and resend them and eat up your data allowance.

I've turned my mobile data off so only using wi fi now at home & reset my mobile data usage to 0 but it still says this morning that ivecused 30kb why would this be?

Hi

That is a conundrum as no connection should have occured when Mobile Data is turned off.

You could ask O2 when the connection happened.

Apple did include a patch to rectify a bug that was allowing data connection when receiving normal texts. This should have been rectified by iOS 8.0.2

Okay well that's all I could find in connection to the recent iOS.

It's an avenue to follow advice to have a Genius Bar at an Apple Store to run a diagnostic via an appointment.

Do you have auto play of videos on Facebook disabled.

Emails with attachments such as images use more data for example.

How long is a piece of string?

Perfectly normal if your emails had downloaded attachements and facebook was very busy...

Not normal if just one email and one update on facebook 😞

Open the app and go into settings. Look for "Video Autoplay" and turn it off or WiFi only.
