If you have iOS 7 installed you can also block them using that if and when their number shows.

Hi,
I'm receiving about 15-20 texts a day about loan applications, PPI refunds, accident claims and so on. Now when I get the texts at the top of the screen it doesn't display a number but it actually say's a name even tho it's not in my phone book. I do not give my number out online I don't even have it on my Facebook. Is there anyway to block these messages as they are all of different numbers and any clue as to how they got my number in the first place.

Thanks
Chrisdion Altoft

You can report the numbers here: http://www.phonepayplus.org.uk/

I also believe that there is a facility within IOS7 that enables you to block numbers.
