does anyone know what effect cost means? saw a phone from o2 on carphone warehouse and iphone for 32 p/m and no upfront cost.. does the effect cost thingy charge you on top of your monthly bill?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I've not come across that type of wording in a mobile Contract deal. / offer before.

Can you add a link to what you've seen ?

No upfront charge can mean your not being asked to pay any handset upfront charge.

If there is any cashback etc then they will show you two costs:

1) Usual Monthly cost

2) Effective monthly cost (taking into account cachback)

there is no option for that i dont think so its just the monthly cost of 32p/m?

If there is no upfront cost the effective monthly cost is just the tariff cost, if you have an upfront cost the effective cost is the tariff cost plus the upfront cost/months on contract. But you still pay the tariff cost not the effectibe cost, example is £48 upfront on a 24 month contract means effective cost is £2 more than tariff

I assume the iPhone 5c interests you Lynx ?

If your worried about wording and the costs then I'd suggest you visit CPW and discuss the contract there. At least you walk out with the phone if it's in stock too.
