This is the second time that I have seen this on my bill.

My June bill had an extra charge of £9.00 on it because apparently messages were received from the 82222 number and two message had been sent to said number.

My July bill has a charge of about £7.50 again for texts that have been sent and received.

I have had my iphone5 since the end of June. I have not and will never access premium rate things at all and yet for some reason I have been charged for these things.

The £9.00 was taken off as I got to speak to a customer adviser on the chat window, sadly they're unable right now for me to get that money taken off.

I am a little disappointed as the adviser told me to send 'stop' to the 82222 number and that I would never be charged again because they would stop sending the texts on their end and yet I have been charged for texts I haven't even received or sent.

What should I do? I've had this type of thing happen with a previous provider which is why I moved to O2 and now it's happening here and I'm just a little annoyed right now.

Any help or advice in stopping this from happening would be wonderful.

Thanks.

PhonePayPlus are the regulators for the premium text industry. Follow the advice on the website to get the texts stopped. There is also a contact number for the company involved and that would be my course of action. Call them to get the texts stopped. Also make a complaint via PhonePayPlus.

http://www.phonepayplus.org.uk/Number-Checker/Check-a-Number-Results.aspx?ncn=82222

Hi,

sadly once these companies have your number and know its live it is hard to shake them off.

One final drastic option is to change your number which 02 will do once free for you.

I believe 82222 is connected with the Guardian Newspaper. Try complaining to them.
