Hi - I am going to Germany for a few months. What's the most cost effective way of using my iphone while there. Can one use a O2 Germany sim card, for example, in a UK O2 iphone? All suggestions welcome. Richard

The best way would be to use a local German sim. Make sure you get your phone unlocked, if it isn't already, before you go.

You can use 02 Travel http://www.o2.co.uk/international/o2-travel but i do concur with bambino that unlocking the handset https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset%20Unlocking%20Form to use a local sim would in most cases be less costly. Just do some homework on that countries networks and tariffs beforehand.

Unlocking is free for Pay Monthly Customers or £15 for payg customers.
