Hi

Ive just recently had my landline disconnected so need a source of wifi to use my laptop. Has anyone used their iphone4 to do this? Does this use a lot of your usage on your iphone.

also just wondering if i choose to get a dongle. Which one is the best to get - i need something reliable to get on the net to look for jobs etc

cheers

julie

I use a Three mifi (E586 currently) for when I'm away and the O2 signal is only 2G. The speeds are actually faster than the O2BB at my OH's and you can get a prepaid SIM which gives 3GB and lasts for 3 months. (Check out Steve Litchfield's site). Once one is used up it's cheaper to throw away and get another.

If your O2 signal is good there's also the 'O2 Pocket Hotspot' (http://www.o2.co.uk/broadband/mobile-broadband/o2-pocket-hotspot) but I've not used one of those. I have used an unlocked Three E585 MiFi with an O2 SIM rom a E169 Dongle and once the APN settings are changed that worked fine.

The advantage of a MiFi or Pocket Hotspot is that you can connect several devices at once - typically at least 5.
