I have just switched from Vodafone to O2.

I have been seeing 'No Service' all day, then about an hour ago it changed to Invalid SIM. I followed some instructions on this forum which suggested connecting to iTunes and restoring the phone. However, it backed up and is now displaying the following message, which means I can't do any restoring etc.:

The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported.
This iPhone is not currently setup to work with carrier you're attempting to use. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be unlocked.

What's the next move?

Cheers

Tony

Well I had a PAC code so I assumed the phone would unlock. Is this not the case?

No you need to request the unlock as it sounds like it;s locked to Vodafone. Only they can resolve it for you.

I could have done this weeks ago. Why has no-one at either Vodafone or O2 mentioned that step when I've spoken to them? Switching providers shouldn't be so difficult.

Thanks for the response.

I'm afraid it's one of the problems of contract phones. Most networks lock them nowadays and it's always advisable to check when buying phones or taking out contracts.
