Cannot get mail iPhone 3GS

"The mail server 'pop.o2.co.uk' is not responding" is the message when I try to collect mail, and all my emails on the phone have gone. However, the icon on initial screen shows 2 emails pending. Sending is fine.

Setings:

Incoming mail server 'pop.o2.co.uk'

Outgoing mail server 'smtp.o2.co.uk'

User name and password unchanged.

Any advice gratefully received.

Could be related to yesterdays complete email outage.

We have seen another user in the forums today with a similar issue

Amazing what turning off your phone and then back on every once in a while accomplishes !
