Was listening to a podcast yesterday, and one of the people on it said that the next time the TV deal is up for renewal that he expects Sky to not be able to match the offer from one of the on-line companies (Amazon probably).
The bubble will burst at some point, as the current situation becomes unsustainable. You can see some of it now - players no longer required at a Premier League club but the club cannot move them on due to needing to recoup some sort of fee and then the player wages.

TV money is everything. You have to stay in the Premiership which is why they pay big bucks for some mediocre players to try and ensure they stay there. Just look what happens to the teams who do go down. They have 'parachute' money for a couple of years but if they don't get promoted they end up forever chasing elusive dreams. Now with foreign ownership employing foreign managers and demanding success, this is why they pay stupid money and wages to top overseas players and the true home of English football runs from the Championship through to grass roots. England will never be an international force again until there are major changes. Maybe Brexit will help but they will find ways around employing 'foreign' workers.

Not sure about the Joe Hart situation, but Jack was loaned out to get competitive game time so he can prove his fitness. He is not likely going to get the consistant amount of playing time at Arsenal as he is at Bournemouth.

Their style of play will suit him (and vice versa), but it is a little disappointing he didn't choose to play abroad. One of the many criticisms of English players is their reluctance to try and play abroad.

@jonsie wrote:

Not sure I completely agree with this. England have been slow to realise that the way junior football is played does little to encourage players to improve their ability. 11 a side is (or until recently was) the main standard which does little to allow players to learn and practice new skills.

Compare that with German, Spanish and Dutch methods - small, short games with emphasis on 1 or 2 touch.

Players are also expected to train themselves - look at Santi Cazorla for example. Spent hours passing the ball to a wall with one foot then the other. Practises dead ball situations with both feet. Not one person knows if he is left or right footed.

Combine all of the above with the fact 'home grown' players and teams are having great difficulty at local level.

Junior football is suffering badly. There are new teams folding every week. The majority of teams are finding it very, very hard to run. Pitch fees are becoming astronomical. It's embarrassing that this country can't afford to fund players at grass root level...

There were supposed to be terms as part of the TV deal(s) that a proportion of the money gets funneled down to lower leagues.
How that works or how much they get I am not sure.
I did like the tweet from one club that the amount of money spent in this transfer market would cover the running cost of the club for 1,000 years!!

This is why more TV money needs to go into grassroots football so let's not say football in this country isn't solely dependent on the likes of sky and bt. All the revenue goes to the Premier league and not enough to the lower Levels. My grandkids play for their schools and two weekend teams, one of which my son manages. Its heartbreaking having to ask for subscriptions from parents when you see the likes of Pogba and Rooney to name but two, take home 300k a week.

The thing is Ben's subscriptions increased constantly. Our coach was always embarrassed to tell us this. We did fundraising events to allow us to play on one of the best pitches in the area....but there is so much talent in this country with no chance of developing further if we don't channel money to allow the talent to flourish.
