Excellent article @Bambino though very worrying. Most of my life is conducted 'online' and everything requires a password. As we get older it is the remembering of passwords that gets harder...Nothing stops a hacker it seems.

The last sentence is very relevant.... "Let's hope a secure alternative to passwords arrives before our memories give out".

I agree, @jonsie. Unfortunately, too many people still have an "it will never happen to me" attitude. Considering all the news about data breaches, I don't know why they do?

I understand what you're saying about remembering, @Cleoriff. If you've never used a password manager, you should try one of the many that are out there. You only need to remember one ultra secure (as they all should be) master password. You can then access all your others within the manager. I find the one I use invaluable.

Which one do you use @Bambino?. It sounds easy enough when explained like that....

I use LastPass but there are a few out there. I just find it works very well for me.

Ok...so have you got LastPass installed on every device you use @jonsie? ie mobiles laptops and tablets?

(bearing in mind I use my laptop most of the time)

Yes it's free on the laptop but £10 a year for mobile which I pay through PayPal.

Thanks Lou. Obviously the one I choose needs to be used on all my devices as I do occasionally use the phone and tablet for online activities....

Google chrome has password recovery page for saved passwords.
