Hi,

I recently change phones and with it the whole of my messaging data for december has gone missing.

The problem now is there is a very important message I need to find as a home rental turned sour and the tenant is lying and insinuating we forced them out when in actual fact we only provided a warning.

Is there a way to request all sent message data, as messages can be doctored so the tenant could doctor the sent messages in their own way. As I have not history of this on the phone I wouldnt be able to prove otherwise.

Please help

Matt

Learning curve is not to just text a tenant.

Always back things up in writing and getting signatures from the tenant.

cheers guys.

by the look im screwed, lesson certainly learned here I wont be renting out again.

what makes the whole thing worse is the tenant in question works with me on the same team and currently owes £700, the effect this could have on work if she doesn't pay could be catastrophic.

Horrible situation to be in:(

Luckily depending on the platform doctored txts would be relatively simple to prove.

yeah still have the old phone, thought it was knackered as wouldnt turn on. Check on the phone and I have texts all the way until 28/11/12 nothing for december. Very strange, it seems as if all text data d=for december has just vanished and I certainly didn't delete it. We'll knowingly deleted it anyway. Its the worst thing that could hav happened.

If you haven't actually deleted the message, try taking the sim and any memory card out of the old phone and put them in your new one - it's possible they are still there but the old phone is not finding them.
