Recommendations on European beach resorts????

So i'm looking at taking my lovely other half away for her birthday in May. Does anyone have any recommendations for relaxing beach resorts in Europe?

Hi @Anonymous....I am only an 'expert' on Spanish beach resorts. It really is down to what you think you and your wife will like

One of the places visted by friends of ours who have no children and just want to relax is Asturias...

What level of drunken activity would you like ?
Low =tsivili / Alikanas
Medium = kalamaki / Zante town
High = Laganas (dubbed Slaganas by local folk)

I went kalamaki as it's on the main front to Laganas and zante town.
A few bars and beautiful beach (where you can easily swim with the sea turtles) and 5 mins in taxi to either up all night night clubs or idyllic historical ruins

High level of drunken activity but low level of parties/loutish behaviour.

Yes it would....but there are other places in that top 10 list. Oh and you did say beach in your opening post. You never mentioned anything about night life....So excuse me if I thought you wanted to 'get away from it all' and stare longingly into each others eyes for 24 hrs a day....

Asturias might be a bit cold during May, if you want to be sure that's going to be sunny better go to the south or even to the islands.

Lol, you don't get Thomas Cook emails do you....
The other day, they had 14 day return flight to barbados for 189.
Bang on a cheap all inclusive off one of the hotel sites and you got 14 days all inclusive in barbados for under a grand

wow that is very cheap.....prices in May seem a lot more expensive.

apart from Lowcostholidays and Travel Republic, any other cheap websites to look through?
