FANGIRL MOMENT!

Im not a girlie girl, however, something pretty cool happened to me and i just screamed my house down i have loved a band ( Avenged Sevenfold) since 2001 and had a little crush on the rhythm guitarist... anyhoo.. Its his birthday today, so through the official media sites, I sent him my well wishes.. And got a reply! After I finished fainting etc etc I rang my mum ( who wasn't impressed)

so... Any celebrities/musicians contacted/ signed/ waved at you etc? Id love to know!

Good for you.

I have been fairly lucky over the years as I worked somewhere that is a haven for celebs.

My favourite moments were Louise Redknapp kissing me on the cheek ( I still get shivers) and George Best signing my book whilst I chatted with him.

The most bizarre incident was a trip to Washington DC, I was in a restaurant in Georgetown at the same time as Julie Roberts and she waved at me ( ok in my direction but I am sure it was at me).

and im not! honest! but when you have loved something for ten years, and devoted blood, sweat and tears for them ( i learnt three albums onthe drum kit in four days, with a chipped hand and blown out knees, and have tattoos....) its nice to get a reply!!! XD

In the early 80's, I went to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show at a theatre in Birmingham with some mates. We hung around the bar afterwards and the cast came in for a beer - and I ended-up getting drunk with Nicholas Courtney - Brigadeer Lethbridge-Stewart from Doctor Who. Bizarrely, it was only a couple of years ago that I was told that the young blonde actress from the show that I tried chatting-up (and failed, sadly) was Amanda Redman - who I definitely still fancy these days.

Not long after that, I left my boring job and went down to London to manage pubs. The first one I went to - for training - was in Richmond and we used to get a load of actors and celebs. One of the regulars was Rod Burton - from Rainbow and "Rod, Jane and Freddy" (both TV shows for very young kids at that time) and we got nattering - mostly about guitars. After that, we'd chat whenever he came in - nice bloke.

The best part was telling my mates back home that I was mates with the guitarist from Rainbow - cos they all assumed I meant Richie Blackmore

Working down there, I met a lot of quite well-known people - especially when I moved to a pub just off Oxford Street cos it was surrounded by film and TV companies. It was an everyday thing to bump into or serve people who were "names" so it's always seemed kind of normal to me.

My best encounter recently wasn't with a person. I was in the Glee Club in Cardiff to see Francis Rossi's solo show and his guitar tech brought the famous green Telecaster over so I could get a close look at it. Being that close to the guitar that made me want to start playing nearly 40 years ago was better than meeting any celeb. (and yes - I do own a few Telecasters and one of them has been stripped down and painted green :))

I'm not sure if I should be jealous:( I've only had two interactions with famous people. I once hugged Angela gosso from arch enemy (lovely woman)

And the second being joey Essex at the club I was working at whilst I was serving him I got into a heated debate about how I didn't know nor care who he was I still expected him to pay for a drink. (What a load of .... Of a program)

Thankfully, I never served a genuine celeb who was anything other than polite and "normal". A couple of them were a little "shy" and just wanted to sit quietly in a corner but most didn't act any differently to anyone else and I never had one who was stroppy. There were a couple of z-listers who acted like they were something special but they were all fur coat and no knickers.

I met Ross kemp from eastEnders Back in 89 when he first joined. Gave me his autograph, last year went to a doctor who event, met Caroline Munro, hammer films, James bond actress, John levene who played sgt Benton alongside Jon pertwee in early 1970's doctor who & Ian mcneice who has made a few appearances as winston Churchill alongside matt smith in the last two series of doctor who

I got some replies from Adam Ferrara (Rescue Me co-star, US-comedian), TJ Thyne (Hodgins from 'Bones')...

Best moment: I ended up in the kitchen of a punkrock-flatshare... In which my favorite guitarist lives. We had many, many, maaany beers... Then came a time the guys thought they could do a handstand still (they were drunk as hell)... they weren't able... So my fav guitarist landed on my feet. That was a good feeling

After that we went to a club and I got his skypename. We talk on there sometimes, yes
