Since Christmas I've had 6 birthdays, 2 wedding anniversary's and Valentines day to contend with - I don't need anymore over hyped commercialised distractions to contend with

Mother's Day in the US isn't until May. When I moved to the UK many years ago, someone told me it was Mother's Day. In a panic, I sent my mom a bouquet of flowers. She thought it was a joke.

Fair enough...although there a lot of free/non commercial things to do too...

But I agree, you don't need to tell your mum that you lover her on mother's day...if you often do it.

Fortunately she is of the same opinion and as Marina says, it would be a poor show if you needed Mothers Day to show you cared

I don't have anything planned for mine as we are supposed to be going away for the weekend next Friday. She'll get a present and card when I see her on Wednesday and, if O2 gives me any reception, a phone call on the day.

Actually I say to my lads every year...do NOT get me anything, I just want a card......

So they have a competition to see who can get the sloppiest card with the best verse....

We're going to Lyme Regis. I've got a big birthday on Friday so thought we should do something so hopefully we'll be able to stop at Monkey World on the way there so I can see my adopted Orang Utan Sylvestre.

I've bought my Mum a china photo frame personalised with her cat's name and I'm hoping the picture gets here in time! She's got one for her last cat and wanted one for this one so I thought it was better than flowers.
